POLAR INVESTIGATIONS: ARCTIC - SVALBARD
From September 10 to October 15th 2013, I traveled to Norway to participate in a 27- member artist expedition aboard a 110 foot three masted Barkentine around Svalbard, sponsored by the Arctic Circle.org. Svalbard is an international archipelago 400 miles north of Norway and 10 degrees south of the North Pole. We sailed as far North as the 79th latitude to Raudfjordbreen and Hamilton Bay. Before this voyage I joined a scientific expedition in Ny-Alesund, flying over and climbing on the Kronebreen and Kongsvegen glaciers. Selected images from this incredible experience make up the body of this portfolio.
